Coaches

Meet the coaches

The people who will be in the gym with your daughter. They are family, and they are basketball parents too. Ask them anything.

Coach

Herman Milan

I grew up playing basketball in Santa Clarita and went on to play at Saugus High. I’ve volunteered as a city youth basketball coach, won multiple championships, and proudly watched my three kids find their own love for the game.

My oldest son’s travel team, SCV Magic, had something special—the players won together and cared about each other. Watching that bond stay with him inspired me to bring SCV Magic back for my daughter’s generation. I hope these girls find a sisterhood and memories they’ll carry long after the final whistle.

I was raised in Santa Clarita, and I have two daughters. My oldest plays basketball for the Saugus Centurions, just like I did years ago. How many years? A lady never reveals her age.

I have been a teacher for more than 22 years, so kids have pretty much been my whole life. No complaints. I love watching my girls compete and play the right way.

The sisterhood you find in basketball is sacred to me. I had it growing up, and I've loved watching it grow in my own girls. I hope your daughter finds it here too.

Coach

Bobby Milan

I grew up playing basketball in Santa Clarita alongside my siblings. These days, I’m a dad to two junior high boys who play AAU basketball. I still play in a weekend adult league with my friends, too. The love for the game never left.

That love has led me to volunteer as a coach for boys’ youth basketball and some co-ed teams. With SCV Magic, I want our girls to work hard, enjoy competing, and build confidence together. Most of all, I hope they find the same joy in basketball that keeps me coming back.

Come to a practice

Our practices are open, so come join us and see how it fits. Ask the coaches whatever is on your mind. Their background, their training and how they handle playing time are all fair questions.
